The Provincial Competition is at the heart of the WorldSkills South Tyrol, Italy project.Held every two years, it serves as the official qualifying event for the WorldSkills Competition. Only the winners in the skill categories recognised by WorldSkills International can apply to join the local team that will take part in the world competition.
In addition to the competing skills, the event also hosts demonstration skills, which showcase professions not yet included in the international circuit but of great importance for our region.
The competition is open not only to young talents from South Tyrol, but also to participants from other Italian regions, who may take part depending on the availability of places and the specific requirements of each skill.
The Provincial Competition is where talent begins, where young professionals challenge themselves, and where the team representing South Tyrol on the world stage takes shape.
The previous edition took place at the Bolzano Fair from 18 to 20 September 2025, as part of the South Tyrolean Education Fair – FUTURUM. The event served as the qualifying stage for the WorldSkills 2026, which will be held in Shanghai (China).
The next edition is scheduled for 2027 and will serve as the official qualifying event for the WorldSkills 2028, to be held in Aichi (Japan).
