Floristry
What they do:
Florists care for and arrange flowers and plants, creating artistic and meaningful designs for a variety of occasions. Based on their own ideas or the client’s wishes, they design bouquets, wreaths, arrangements, and floral decorations, using different materials such as ribbons, candles, or branches. They also design and plant containers and create long-lasting interior decorations that enhance living and working spaces. A strong sense of colour, form, and composition, along with creativity and aesthetic awareness, is essential in this profession.
Florists work not only in flower shops but also on location – decorating churches, hotels, banquet halls, and event venues, especially for weddings and celebrations. They may also be responsible for the decoration of shop windows and retail spaces, ensuring an appealing presentation. Another important part of the job is sales and customer service. Florists advise clients on the care and maintenance of flowers and plants, calculate prices, manage sales and cash transactions, and handle orders and deliveries as part of flower delivery services.
