Floor laying

What they do:

Floor layers are interior construction specialists responsible for the installation of various types of flooring, ensuring functionality, comfort, and aesthetic harmony within each space. They work with a wide range of materials — PVC, linoleum, carpet, wood, and parquet — creating surfaces that enhance the atmosphere and design of any environment. The choice of materials, colours, and textures plays a key role in defining the mood and usability of residential, commercial, or public interiors.

Before laying the flooring, floor layers prepare the subfloor, carry out moisture tests, and, when necessary, install sound and thermal insulation. Once the surface is ready, they perform precise installation work, followed by final treatments such as sanding, sealing, and finishing, especially for wood and parquet floors. For larger projects — such as sports halls, event venues, or public buildings — they often work as part of a team, coordinating with other construction and design professionals. The job is mainly performed indoors, but it requires mobility and adaptability, as floor layers frequently move between different worksites.
