Concrete construction Work
What they do:
Concrete construction workers build reinforced concrete structures for civil, industrial, and infrastructural projects. They play a key role in modern construction, specialising in the preparation of formworks and the placement of concrete. Starting from technical drawings, they construct formworks made of wood, metal, or composite materials, which serve as temporary moulds for casting concrete. After preparing the steel reinforcement, they pour the concrete into the formworks, ensuring that it is properly distributed and compacted.
This profession requires precision, physical strength, and technical knowledge of building materials, construction site safety, and the properties of concrete. The work is mainly carried out outdoors, on construction sites of varying size, and often involves collaboration with bricklayers, crane operators, and carpenters.
