What they do:
Logistics and freight carriers are responsible for loading, transporting, and unloading goods and materials safely, efficiently, and on time. They work for logistics companies, courier services, moving firms, construction companies, or distribution centres. Their main tasks include checking goods before loading, planning delivery routes, operating light or heavy vehicles, and ensuring that loads are properly secured and intact.
They must be familiar with road safety regulations, rules for the transport of hazardous materials (when required), and the correct use of lifting and handling equipment. They play a key role in the logistics chain, working independently or as part of a team, often in close contact with customers, warehouse staff, and other operators. The job requires accuracy, reliability, and good physical condition.
