Plumbing and heating
What they do:
Plumbing and heating technicians install, maintain, and repair complex supply and disposal systems in both new and existing buildings. They work on heating, ventilation, water, and gas systems, as well as on renewable energy systems that make buildings more efficient and sustainable. Their responsibilities include installing fuel storage and supply systems, safety, measuring, and control devices, laying pipelines, and installing sanitary fixtures. They also build and maintain water purification and wastewater treatment systems, rainwater drainage systems, and central vacuum installations.
Plumbing and heating technicians work independently or in teams, often in collaboration with other professionals, following technical documentation and project plans. They can calculate time, resources, and costs, prepare technical estimates, and plan and coordinate work phases efficiently. In addition, they ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, assess the quality of work, and handle the documentation and certification of completed installations.
